The Running

This is a little song about desperately trying to get away from something or someone. In fact, the song almost got away from us as it's probably the longest song we've ever recorded. You may hear some familiar and not so familiar sounds borrowed from a couple of movies.

The running was quite possibly one of the most enjoyable songs we ever played as is evident in the recording (I hope).

The Running

Forget what you've heard
It get's so absurd
Forget everything I just said
When emotions run high
I find sometimes I
start talking off the top of my head

When things get intense
I stop making sense
and some things are better left unsaid
It shouldn't be but
it seems to me that
sometimes we're better off dead

CHORUS:
and you can spend the rest of your life running
You can run to the other side of town
You can run to the other side of the universe
But they can always track you down

I need you
like you need me
I don't give a damn what you believe
we get our kicks
we take our licks
If I were you I wouldn't leave
