Ugly Men In Trees
This song was based on a dream about one of my favorite pine
trees and is one of my first solo recordings.
It features the only documented record of me playing the
clarinet as well as some piano and guitar.

Ugly Men In
Trees
I work with people all day long
They tend to get me mad
When I get home I think about
the ugly times I've had
So when I lay me down to sleep
I get down on my knees
for every night I dream about
Ugly men in trees
Every time I turn around
There's things that I don't like
Anger, war, crime and politics
There's no relief in sight
So please excuse me if I speak my mind
and shout out if I please
For every night I close my eyes
There's ugly men in trees
I don't want to cause no fuss
I want to be left alone
Ugly men you just stay away
Don't invade my home
You go your way
and stay out of mine
and we can live in peace
'cause I don't want to live the life of
Ugly men in trees
