Below are some songs I wrote during the late eighties and early nineties. Some of them are a little quirky, but it
was fun getting them down on tape. |
|
With more than a hundred songs written on paper, only around sixty or so
songs ever made it to tape, some solo and some with the band. While I
think many of my songs sound better on the band (IDYLL EYES) versions (Dan, Joe and Chad were much better at
their respective tasks than I was), there are some songs of which I
actually preferred my original "demo" versions. |
|
An example would be "Peanut Gallery?", a song I
recorded in an afternoon. On that song I kept flipping the tape around for
different effects including the reverb on the drum and the odd backward
guitar solo. |
I think that I have always enjoyed making music (or noise, as some
would offer), because of the freedom of creativity it offers. I have never
been too content with the tried and true off-the-shelf formula. That's
probably why I never made any money writing or performing. Music for
music's sake. |
